2nd Year Elective - Furniture design
Sving; Norwegian term for 'turn' (turning a page or turning the stool)
This stool was designed for the Massey Library, replacing the older, impractical existing stools in the space.
The brief was to design a stool made for a contemporary domestic environment or purpose using predominantly sustainably harvested timber.
We engaged with multiple woodwork processes and upholstery techniques, these components come together to create a playful and comfortable library stool.
